SAMMIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long story short: rick and i birdsat for my sister when she went to vegas. rick fell in love with the bird. my sister calls me a couple days after she picks her bird up from our apt and asks me if we want a bird... her friend who has 2 kids, 2 cats and a hampster has to give something up, and the bird is first to go since she's upstairs and squawks and is messy. sooo...... rick wanted the bird. and now we have a new member in our family..... SAMMIE!! I hope she and speedie will be friends.

She whistles different tunes, and sings her part in the Andy Griffith theme song!!!!! She's already daddy's little girl!!!

oh and rick and i have decided to get a rescue cockatiel. long story short: we bird-sat for my sister last week and rick fell in love with the bird. totally smitten. and then just last night, my sister calls me and says her friend doesn't want her cockatiel anymore (two kids, one cat.... you know the chaos) and asked if we wanted it. sooo...... we're going to be parents of two now. and hopefully the bird and speedie will get along and be friends.

wow. i can't believe you guys all still read xanga. maybe i'll post more often instead of on my space.

so to answer your questions:
1) the job is here at the getty, but i'll be transferring from the conservation institute to the research institute
2) my job now is library assistant; my new job is database standards editor. giant leap. in every aspect including status, pay scale, and most obviously, duties.
3) even if i'm bitchy like the PhD, it doesn't carry the weight of snobbery with just my bachelor degree.
4) ya my treat, when i feel like inviting people out for gatherings again
5) yes, i can get you (and your friend) tickets. for now i have 4 left to use (each staff person gets 6 tickets to give out for the first 6 months and the villa opened in january, so come june i should be allowed unlimited people) just let me know details and preferences and stuff. the villa is closed on tuesdays and wednesdays.
6) tacos it is. only 59 cents each at del taco. i will be able to afford mucho after i start my new job. :)

oh and a late side note, i went to vegas this last weekend and won $150 on a PENNY SLOT!!!!!!!! wooohoo!! and then on another penny slot i won $30. :)

i got offered the job! for those of you who don't know: i applied for this job in november, they hired a PhD in January, the PhD quit after a month and a half, and they opened up the position again... and i reapplied, and three weeks later, i get the job offer!

and i'm taking it!!!
